Qualifications:
Essential:
  • Post-secondary education in the areas of business, law or public administration or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with research and analysis of complex policy issues, including data collection and management.
  • Strong organizational skills with experience managing large and multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to prepare original finished materials for use of senior officials.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to foster strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information to variety of audiences.
  • Ability to work independently, show initiative and exercise excellent judgement in decision-making.
Desired:
  • Experience with interpreting financial reports and data is desired.
  • Knowledge of labour relations, pension and other compensation related issues is desired.
Duties:
The Labour Relations Division provides strategic labour relations advice and expertise to government, the negotiation of collective agreements, contract administration, classification and benefits administration, public sector compensation coordination, and research and consultative services.  Under general direction the Policy Advisor will provide research, analysis, evaluation, and development of policies and programs in support of the department’s labour relations and compensation related priorities within government and across the broader public sector. Work includes frequent communication and collaboration with other departments, organizations, and jurisdictions.
