Introduction
The Manitoba Strategic Infrastructure Secretariat (MSIS) is currently seeking a Term Strategic Intergovernmental Coordinator. MSIS is a central delivery agency that manages, leads and delivers significant investment programs and initiatives in partnership with other levels of government and third party proponents throughout Manitoba. Working within multi-levels of government, MSIS undertakes government-wide coordination and negotiation of strategic capital infrastructure that are complex, highly sensitive in nature and includes diverse teams, topics and issues.

Qualifications:
Essential:
  • Post-secondary education in Communications, Public Administration or Political Science. A relevant combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Experience conducting research and analysis of complex information to interpret, summarize and provide recommendations to senior management for decision making purposes
  • Significant experience in communications involving complex issues
  • Experience managing complex capital projects
  • Excellent written communication skills to produce a variety of documents, speeches and materials for public information
  • Strong organizational skills to manage and meet multiple deadlines with tight timeframes
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly present information
  • Strong leadership skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to develop and maintain strong working relationships with all levels of government and the public 
  • Strong political acumen including the ability to identify issues and potential solutions

Desired:
  • Knowledge in accounting principles, financial statements, capital and operating budgets
Duties:
Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister, the Strategic Intergovernmental Coordinator leads the development and coordination of strategic infrastructure communications, initiatives and policy documents. Working within a team of skilled professionals, this position manages and coordinates the development of program material, communications and strategic documents to support executive level decision making, manages a small portfolio of complex projects, and acts as a liaison between various levels of government, internal stakeholders and senior management.
