The Tour and Event Coordinator position supports the strategic direction of the Executive Council by providing tour and event planning advice. Reporting to the Director, Stakeholder & Government Relations and Marketing, the Tour and Event Coordinator provides support to all members of Executive Council on a wide variety of events spanning all areas within the government’s purview.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must provide a satisfactory criminal records check, child and adult abuse registry checks
  • Must have a Class 5F Drivers licence
  • Must have the ability to work outside normal business hours evenings and weekends as required
  • Must be willing and able to travel throughout the Province

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in public relations, marketing and/or event planning. Other combinations of education and experience will be considered
  • Experience in public affairs, event coordination, communications and stakeholder relations.
  • Demonstrated sound judgement and ability to build strong partnerships with stakeholders for the purposes of tour and event planning.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively inside government and with external partners.
  • Solid conceptual, analytical decision making and problem solving skills
  • Strong political acumen with the ability to manage confidential and politically sensitive material and situations in an appropriate manner
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage, prioritize and meet competing deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)

Duties:
The successful candidate will, work closely with Minister’s offices in planning, advancing and developing community based tour, events and announcements in support of the Government of Manitoba. They will, co-ordinate creative services for events: such as accommodation and transportation for participants, catering, signage, displays, special needs requirements and audio-visual equipment. Responsible for the consistent execution of events to communicate the Government of Manitoba message and brand experience.
