The Parks and Trails department is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Administrative Secretary in Birds Hill Provincial Park.

Qualifications:

Essential:
 

  • Experience working in a general office environment performing routine secretarial and clerical duties, including maintaining filing systems.
  • Experience working in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word and Excel) or equivalent software applications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Strong written communication skills with experience preparing general correspondence including editing and formatting. 
  • Strong verbal communication skills including experience dealing effectively with the public in person and over the phone
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to handle sensitive material in a confidential and professional manner. 
  • Experience handling and reconciling cash transactions. 

Desired:
 
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Experience with accounts payable including processing invoices, requisitioning and receipt of goods.

Duties:
This position is responsible for providing front line support to the public during the very busy park season.  The incumbent will sell park passes and various other licences to the general public.
