Health Human Resource Planning (HHRP) is responsible for providing policy direction and departmental leadership in developing provincial level health human resource policy, planning, and monitoring supply and demand trends (to facilitate matching). This includes supply, utilization, legislation and adjustment strategies for all healthcare providers to support the delivery of health care in Manitoba. HHRP also provides policy direction, at the provincial level on appropriate compensation levels and mechanisms, policies, innovations, concept model, and related structure.

Qualifications:

Essential:
  • Extensive experience providing secretarial/administrative support to executive and senior management
  • Experience in calendar management; creating and maintaining paper and electronic filing; tracking and monitoring projects or assignments
  • Ability to work with highly confidential and sensitive material
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to balance competing demands in a rapidly changing environment with stringent deadlines while working under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Effective written communication skills, including formatting, editing and proofreading documents, with the ability to prepare correspondence and assist in composing reports, expenses and presentations
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with the public and government officials at all levels
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Outlook and Excel)
 
Desired:
  • Completion of a post-secondary program specializing in providing administrative support

Duties:

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative services to both the Executive Director as well as several other staff within the branch. Working in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail, the incumbent is responsible for providing general administrative support to the office, including reviewing/formatting/typing and tracking of complex documents are correspondence and maintaining a bring-forward and filing system to ensure files are appropriately maintained and actions are carried out in a timely manner.
