The Department of Environment and Climate Change is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of a Revenue Collection Officer in Winnipeg.

Duties:
The Revenue Collection Officer is responsible for verifying and reconciling payments processed through the Moneris system, auditing remittances, reviewing and processing purchase requests and payments, and providing regulatory and policy information to departmental staff and the public. The position ensures the accurate collection, recording, reconciliation, and remittance of revenue by monitoring electronic funds transfer (EFT) payments, resolving discrepancies, verifying ledger coding, and supporting staff throughout the province.

Qualifications:
Essential:

  • Experience reviewing and processing accounting documents. 
  • Experience with revenue accounts, bank reconciliation, and revenue remittances. 
  • Experience performing data entry with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences.  
  • Strong written communication skills. 
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to work independently, prioritize workloads, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel and Outlook) or similar software applications.
  • Experience interpreting and applying policies and/or procedures.
  • Knowledge and/or experience using a Point of Sale (POS) system or similar cash handling and transaction processing system.
  • Experience using SAP or a similar/comparable financial accounting system.
Desired:
  • Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate fluently in French.
