The Department of Agriculture is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Director, Industry Development Branch.
Duties:
As a member of the department’s management team, the Director is responsible to lead and manage the Industry Development Branch and to provide advice and support to the Assistant Deputy Minister and Deputy Minister.
The mandate of Industry Development Branch is to enable the strategic development of the agriculture, food, agri-product industries, lead the department’s industrial development and attraction program, and lead department initiated industry development strategies. This is accomplished by creating conditions for successful industry development including foundational elements (e.g. labour, infrastructure, climate change resilience and leadership), strong relationships with government and non-government bodies, supporting policy development and associated programming. The position is responsible for the Branch’s strategic and business planning, staffing, budgeting, and overseeing program delivery by its sections. The Director represents Manitoba on provincial and national committees.
