The Manitoba Student Aid Program provides needs-based financial assistance to help Manitobans pursue post-secondary education and training opportunities. The program supports students who may otherwise be unable to access higher education due to financial barriers and plays a key role in helping individuals achieve their educational and career goals.
Manitoba Advanced Education and Training is seeking highly motivated individuals to fill one regular bilingual Program Advisor position and one term non-bilingual Program Advisor position.

Duties:
The Program Advisor is responsible for assisting students who need enhanced service to secure funding and plan for post-secondary education. This includes a working knowledge of community programs and resources to connect clients with alternate sources of funding or other supportive resources. The incumbent also exercises considerable discretionary authority in adjudicating appeals from students who are not satisfied with the result of their financial aid application.
The Program Advisor plays a leadership role in enhancing program operations by analyzing existing business processes and training materials, participating on cross-functional teams as well as identifying and recommending resolutions to procedural or policy problems. The incumbent is also a leader in developing public communication materials and correspondence or briefing materials for the Minister or senior management.
The Program Advisor represents the branch in the wider community in order to increase program awareness, particularly among under-represented groups including Indigenous people, low-income families and recent immigrants. The incumbent is also responsible for fostering positive relations with a variety of stakeholders including related service providers, other departments, high schools, and more than 60 post-secondary institutions in Manitoba.
