The Immigration Pathways Division is looking for professionals to assume the roles of Skilled Worker Program Officers for the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) and Project Coordinators for the Integration Branch. The successful candidates will be responsible for program delivery/administration in these two branches to achieve the division's objectives.

Conditions of Employment:
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must be willing and able to travel internationally and throughout Canada 
  • Post-Secondary education in Commerce, Business Administration or the Social Sciences or an equivalent combination of training and experience 
  • Experience working with the Canadian immigration systems and/or settlement sector 
  • Experience undertaking research, analysis, and assessment of policies and/or programs, verifying information and making recommendations based on policy, program criteria, goals and/or objectives
  • Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Experience interpreting, explaining and applying policies, procedures, statutes, and/or regulations to a variety of interest groups
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly present complex issues to a variety of audiences
  • Excellent written communication skills for preparing detailed analytical or assessment reports 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, including managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment 
  • Strong political acumen with the ability to manage confidential and politically sensitive material and situations in an appropriate manner
  • Advanced Skills in Microsoft Word and Excel (Note: required for Project Coordinator positions)

  • Ability to speak, read and write in French
Skilled Worker Program Officer: Reporting to the Manager of the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program Skilled Worker Operations, the incumbent’s primary role is the assessment of immigration applications using the defined policy and procedures to determine the demonstrated ability to make significant and long-term contributions to the Manitoba economy.

Project Coordinator: Reporting to the Manager of the Integration Programs, the incumbent is responsible for the development of programs and policies within the identified provincial priorities to support the settlement and integration of newcomers in Manitoba. The incumbent liaises with government, non-government organizations and other community partners, and makes recommendations for the development of settlement responses to the needs of newcomers. The incumbent also assesses the eligibility and appropriateness of proposals under settlement and integration funding program(s); manages contracts; and supports, monitors and evaluates Advanced Education, Skills and Immigration (AESI) funded initiatives.
