Introduction
The Department of Mental Health, Wellness and Community Wellness is seeking to fill the position of Performance and Business Consultant. Working in the Strategic Initiatives and Corporate Services Branch, the Performance and Business Consultant leads the overall performance and outcomes framework, research, business analysis and evaluation for the Department.

Qualifications:
Essential:
 
  • Post-secondary degree in health information, information technology, statistics, mathematics, business/systems analysis or related discipline. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
  • Extensive experience designing and executing complex statistical analyses, including inferential analytics.
  • Experience in the development of data-based business solutions.
  • Experience leading research projects and program performance measurement frameworks.
  • Effective verbal communication to communicate complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Strong written communication skills to prepare reports and presentations.
  • Experience with statistical software packages and languages such as SPSS, SAS, R, Phython or equivalent.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and building strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Superior critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent political acumen.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an environment with competing deadlines and rapidly changing priorities.

Desired:
 
  • Experience in health practice within community, clinical/institutional, or public service settings.
  • Experience applying, reporting and monitoring accountability mechanisms.
  • Experience analyzing policies and programs to determine value for money, return on investment and economic impacts.
  • Master`s degree in health, social sciences, statistics, mathetmatics or a related field.
Duties:
The Performance and Business Consultant leads the development of data-driven solutions to support the complex business and performance needs of the department. Using research, business analysis, evaluation and through liaising with staff, executive management and other leaders across the health system and government, the Performance and Business Consultant:
 
  • plays a lead role in developing tools to manage the provincial and departmental performance dashboards and performance measurement frameworks;
  • manages systems to develop and direct evaluation plans;
  • monitors, processes and evaluates data and performance;
  • establishes standards, methodologies and data analytics approaches, and;
  • leads data collection, statistical analysis and reporting of related work.
