Conditions of Employment:
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must be able to provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check. Satisfactory Security Check may be required. 
  • Must have a valid Class 5 Drivers License and be capable of traveling within the District 
  • Must be physically capable of performing the duties of the position, including wearing Personal Protective Equipment
  • Must be able to work on-call 
Qualifications:
Essential:
  • Technical certification with a trade designation (i.e. Electrician), a diploma or post-secondary certificate in a facility/property management environment (i.e. BOMI), 5th Class Power Engineering certificate, or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
  • Experience in a facility/property management environment including grounds maintenance
  • Experience in operation and maintenance of HVAC, life safety systems, building automation systems
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, and members of the public
  • Decision making and organizational skills
  • Verbal communication skills
  • Written communication skills 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Desired:
  • Knowledge of safe work practices, procedures and relevant safety policies and legislation
  • Experience using SAP (or comparable software) for Plant Maintenance and Materials Management
Duties:
Under the direct supervision of the Facility Manager, the incumbent assists in the management and operation of the facility to ensure that the client department has a safe, clean and comfortable area in which to carry out their programs.
