Introduction
Hecla/Grindstone Provincial Park is approximately 176 km north of Winnipeg, MB.  

Conditions of Employment:
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must possess and maintain a valid full stage Manitoba class 5 driver's license.
  • Must be physically able to perform the duties assigned to the position including lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be willing and able to work weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time under various weather conditions.
Qualifications:
Essential:
  • Experience in planning, organizing and supervision of construction and infrastructure projects.
  • Experience supervising staff.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment and interact effectively with staff, user groups and stakeholders.
  • Experience working independently with the ability to plan, organize and prioritize a complex workload.
 
Desired:
  • Experience providing cost estimates, purchasing and inventory control.
  • Experience and/or training in Workplace Safety and Health safe work practices.
  • Experience in First Aid and CPR.
  • Experience operating park equipment such as riding mowers and tractors with buckets.
 
Duties:
Under the direction and accountable to the Park Works Supervisor 3, the incumbent will assist in the planning, coordination, implementation and supervision of typical park maintenance, operations and construction activities within Hecla/Grindstone and Beaver Creek Provincial Parks. The incumbent will assist in supervising staff, including administration, performance management, scheduling, training and recommending disciplinary action of seasonal staff within the Hecla district. The incumbent assists in the management and control of asset and stores inventory, petroleum inventory and control, vehicle monitoring. Assists in Property Service Fee administration and yard maintenance functions. The incumbent assists in the procurement of goods and supplies and provides cost estimates for contract goods. The incumbent will be required to operate all park equipment as required and will have hands on involvement in park operations.
