Introduction
The Parks and Regional Services Division of Manitoba Sustainable Development is seeking a qualified individual to fill a seasonal labourer position in Turtle Mountain Provincial Park located 22 kms South of Boissevain on PTH 10. 
 

Conditions of Employment:
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must possess and maintain a valid full stage manitoba Class 5 driver's licence.
  • Must be physically able to perform the duties of this position, lifting, bending, reaching, standing, outdoors.
  • Must be able to work with paints, solvents, or chemicals and wear personal protective equipment when required.
  • Must be ready, willing and able to work evenings, weekends, statutory holidays and overtime as required.
  • Must be able to travel and work in other outlying areas within the Region.
 
Qualifications:
Essential:
  • Experience performing janitorial duties.
  • Experience performing grounds maintenance.
  • Demonstrated ability to work alone and/or part of a team.
  • Good interpersonal skills and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt and learn new procedures.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions.
  • Demonstrated written communication skills, including the ability to prepare written documents.
  • Experience operating, maintaining, and repairing maintenance equipment (such as gas powered trimmers, ride on lawnmowers, chainsaws, ATV's).
 
Desired:
  • Experience performing building maintenance.
  • Knowledge of Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health Act and Regulations.
 
Duties:
Under the supervision of the Parks Works Supervisor the incumbent is responsible for performing manual work related to janitorial, maintenance, and operational activities within Turtle Mountain, William Lake and occasionally other Provincial parks/Wildlife Management areas within the Region.
