Introduction
Parks and Regional Services Division of Manitoba Sustainable Development is seeking a qualified individual to fill a seasonal Park Attendant position in William Lake Provincial Park.   
 

Conditions of Employment:
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must possess and maintain a valid full stage Manitoba Class 5 driver's license.
  • Must be physically capable of performing duties of position including lifting, bending, twisting, standing, etc.
  • Must be ready and willing to work, evenings, weekends, statutory holidays and overtime.
  • Must be able to work with paint, solvents and chemicals and wear required PPE.
  • Must be able travel to work in other outlying areas within the Region.
 
 
Qualifications:
Essential:
  • Demonstrated experience providing customer service and/or working in the hospitality industry.
  • Demonstrated experience handling cash, balancing and making deposits.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) or other comparable office suite.
  • Demonstrated strong verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse levels of staff, other government agencies, non-government agencies and the public.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to produce and manitain accurate records and reports.
  • Demonstrated written and electronic communication skills including the ability to prepare written and electronic documents.
 
Desired:
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Experience working with point of sales (POS) terminals.Demonstrated experience operating and manitaining maintenance equipment (push mowers, gas powered trimmers and ATV's)
  • Demonstrated experience performing janitorial duties.
  • Demonstrated experience performing grounds maintenance.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health Act and Regulations.
 
Duties:
Under the limited supervision of the Park Attendant 3 (KA3) the incumbant is responsible for the operation of a park entrance gate located within William Lake and/or Adam Lake and occasionally other Provincial Parks within the Region. The primary purpose of this position is to collect park entrance and/or campground fees and maintain related records as well as providing hospitality services while performing occasional janitorial and/or general maintenance duties associatted with infrastructure within parks.
