Introduction
The General Child and Family Services Authority (GA) is one of four child and family services authorities in Manitoba responsible for mandating, funding and overseeing the services provided by its child and family services (CFS) agencies. The GA assists agencies to build capacity and to continually improve the services offered to children, youth and families throughout the province. The GA is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of General Authority Clerk.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be able to provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check (with vulnerable sector search), Child Abuse Registry Check, Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Prior Contact Check
Qualifications:
Essential:
  • Experience providing administrative and clerical support for a large office such as reception and phone duties, photocopying, and filing (electronic and paper) and managing a high-volume inbox.
  • Experience managing large data files/databases with various stakeholders for trainings, tracking services and sensitive documents, with experience performing multiple database functions including providing summary reports from a variety of databases.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills including the ability to work independently and establish priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment and with external contacts.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills with experience formatting, editing and proof-reading documents with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Teams, PowerPoint and Excel or similar software applications.
  • Sound judgement and problem solving skills with the ability to handle sensitive, confidential and non-routine matters.

Desired:
  • Knowledge and understanding of Child and Family Services.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Child and Family Services Information System (CFSIS).
Duties:
The incumbent provides administrative services in support of the functions of the General Child and Family Services Authority specifically in the development and maintenance of tracking systems and databases and related follow-up activities.  In addition, they will also provide timely and accurate administrative support to a team of Program Specialists, the Data Analytics and Evaluation team, and the Chief Financial Officer.
