The Department of Environment and Climate Change is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Parks Support Clerk, located in Carberry, Manitoba. Parks Support Clerk is part of the integral team that supports Spruce Woods Provincial Park and Carberry District.

Conditions of Employment:

- Ability to travel within the province with possible overnight stays
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Experience performing administrative and/or clerical duties which may include, but are not limited to: reception, answering phones, records management, filing and data entry
- Experience working with the public and providing customer service to a diverse clientele
- Experience performing accounting transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations and/or creating financial reports
- Ability to coordinate and support processing of financial and program paper and electronic documents
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, Word, Excel and Outlook or compatible programs
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team
- Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to provide information in a clear and concise manner
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to prepare, edit and format correspondence with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information
Desired:
- Ability to understand, explain, and apply regulations, policies, and/or procedure
- Experience working with SAP or an equivalent financial management software
- Completion of a Business Administration and/or Diploma or Certificate. A combination of related education, training and experience may be considered
Duties:
Under the supervision of the Park District Manager, the incumbent provides clerical and administrative support to the Spruce Woods Park District, as well as providing support to the district staff in the Carberry office. This includes preparing, checking and completing payroll, preparing and completing accounts payable and/or receivable documents, maintaining files, requisitioning of supplies and services, the development and commitment of budgets, cash-flows and variance explanations, general administrative duties and communicating with customers, employees and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information and address complaints. The incumbent ensures that programs are delivered within pre-approved parameters, and that professional, business-like, quality customer service is provided to the Department’s clients.
