Introduction
Francophone Health is a unit within the provincial health authority, Shared Health / Soins communs that provides leadership and coordinates services to support the delivery of provincial bilingual health services in alignment with the Provincial Health Care French Language Services Strategic plan, the Clinical and Preventive Services Plan (CPSP), and other acts, regulations and policies relevant to French language services (FLS). It works closely with Manitoba’s designated bilingual health service delivery organizations (SDOs), and other key stakeholders to develop standards, expand pathways, and integrate FLS into health services planning.

Qualifications:
Essential:
- Post-secondary qualification in business/administration or significant experience in an administrative position.
- Excellent oral communication skills in English.
- Excellent oral communication skills in French.
- Strong written communication skills in English.
- Intermediate written communication skills in French.
- Demonstrated experience in planning and project/ workflow coordination, including attention to detail, organizing, prioritizing and meeting deadlines with tight timeframes.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build and maintain good working relationships with staff, clients and suppliers using tact, respect, and customer service principles.
- Experience with budgeting, accounting and financial management processes in order to monitor and manage the translation operating budget.
- Ability to work autonomously, to analyze politically sensitive and/or confidential matters, solve problems, and make complex operational decisions.
- Experience and proficiency using the formatting features of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong knowledge of the statutes, regulations and government policies relating to services in French.
Desired:
- Familiarity with the translation industry and/or experience working in a translation office is an asset.
- Experience with specialized workflow and computer-assisted translation software.
Duties:
The Translation Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and completion of quality, cost-effective and timely translation in French and in English for Shared health, the four designated bilingual regional health authorities, and a number of designated bilingual healthcare agencies. The position is also the point-of-contact manager for all translation requests, from reception through to delivery. The Coordinator plays a central role in the unit - all operations regarding translation pass through this position.
