Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Possess and maintain a valid Class 5 driver's licence
  • Ability to travel
  • Physically capable of lifting and moving medium to heavy loads associated with storekeeping (10 KG to 25 Kg  OR  25 to 60 lbs)
  • Ability to obtain Power Forklift and Dangerous Goods certificate for both transportation of goods via Air and Ground

Qualifications:
Essential:

  • Experience in Stock Keeping Operation
  • Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) 
  • Experience in shipping, receiving, storing and distributing goods
  • Experience working with an Inventory Management System including Data Entry & Inventory procedures
  • Knowledge of automotive, heavy equipment, traffic, electrical, and safety equipment
  • Interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Ability to work independently
  • Customer service skills

Desired:
  • Knowledge of transportation methods of Dangerous Goods Regulations
  • Knowledge of clerical procedures

Duties:
The Storekeeper reports to the Maintenance Coordinator and assists in the operation of the warehouse stores to ensure timely, efficient and cost effective acquisition, warehousing and issue of materials to Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure’s northern airports, marine sites and for the Winter Roads Program. This position is responsible for being part of a continuous improvement atmosphere to improve safety, process, and procedures.
