Positions will support the following branches/sections within the Department of Agriculture:
Minnedosa - Agriculture Crown Lands Section
Winnipeg - Financial and Administrative Services Branch
Brandon - Land Use and Ecosystem Resilience Branch (Note: other locations, such as Carberry, may be considered)
Carman - Crop Production Section

Qualifications:
Essential:

  • Experience providing administrative support in a fast-paced office environment including managing electronic calendars to schedule and coordinate meetings, managing correspondence, data entry, and maintaining filing and document tracking systems.
  • Experience working with the public and providing customer service to a diverse clientele.
  • Experience handling sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong written communication skills to draft, format and edit correspondence, letters, memos and reports
  • Strong verbal communication skills to clearly and professionally communicate with internal and external stakeholders in person and by phone. 
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective working relationships with various stakeholders

Duties:
This position provides administrative, coordination and secretarial support within the Branch. The position is responsible for demonstrating leadership in coordinating activities and in completing independent tasks, such as collating information, gathering background information and organizing events that contribute to the completion of larger initiatives. The responsibilities of this position include assisting with scheduling, correspondence, following up with staff on deadlines, and coordination of administrative functions. Additionally, the incumbent will administratively support a variety of initiatives through the development, revision and editing of documents and websites, organization of meetings, records management and coordination of schedules.
