As a member of the Manitoba Emergency Measures Organization (EMO) disaster recovery and mitigation team, the incumbent will provide leadership, support, analysis and focus for the development and implementation of mitigation and recovery programs in Manitoba. The Senior Recovery and Mitigation Specialist assists the Manager of Mitigation and the Manager of Recovery with policy and programs within the mandate of Manitoba EMO. The incumbent will function as the project lead on difficult or complex planning assignments within the area of Recovery and Mitigation. The Specialist will undertake research, analysis, and policy development in support of Manitoba EMO strategic initiatives (new or proposed policies or programs) that fall within the area of Recovery and Mitigation and will lead the design and development of projects. The incumbent will participate in federal/provincial/territorial working groups on matters related to recovery and mitigation.
