Selkirk Mental Health Centre is a 252-bed facility that provides long-term mental health in-patient treatment and rehabilitation services to residents of Manitoba whose challenging needs cannot be met elsewhere in the provincial health care system. Duties:
Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Physiotherapist is responsible for physical therapy treatment and programming for patients at SMHC. This includes ongoing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of physical therapy strategies/interventions in promoting the rehabilitation of persons with psychiatric illness, physical disabilities, and/or acquired brain injury. The incumbent is responsible for the supervision of volunteers/students working with them. The incumbent also provides regular instruction, support, coaching, and professional leadership to patient/staff/families implementing physical therapy strategies/interventions.
