Corporate Strategy & Planning Branch leads strategy and planning activities in support of the department. The activities include whole-of-government and interdepartmental strategic initiatives; intergovernmental and federal-provincial-territorial activities including those under the Council of Ministers Responsible for Transportation and Highway Safety; and, organizational performance & transformation related processes.

Qualifications:
Essential:

  • Experience conducting research using qualitative and quantitative research methods for policy/project development and implementation.
  • Excellent written communication skills including experience writing a variety of documents, such as speaking notes, reports, briefing materials, letters, policy papers, and authority-seeking documents.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills including the ability to facilitate meetings and clearly present complex issues to a variety of audience.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience leading complex projects in collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage, prioritize and meet competing deadlines.
  • Strong political acumen with the ability to manage confidential and politically sensitive materials and situations in an appropriate manner.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative and embrace innovation with minimal supervision.

Desired:
  • Knowledge and understanding of one or more business areas within Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure’s Mandate, including infrastructure delivery/stewardship, transportation, water management.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the legislative process such as creating, amending and repealing legislation and regulations.
  • Knowledge of corporate strategic planning processes such as organizational change and performance measures.

Duties:
Reporting to a Manager in the Corporate Strategy and Planning Branch, the incumbent will research, analyze and make recommendations on strategic and corporate planning initiatives in support of the department’s mission and mandate. The incumbent will also serve as lead for assigned branch projects, including but not limited to strategic, corporate transformation/planning, and intergovernmental-related strategic needs of the Department.
