Qualifications:

Essential:
 

  • Post-secondary degree in Geomatics Engineering. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered. 
  • Work related experience in physical and geometrical geodesy, geodetic and control surveying, global positioning systems, and least squares estimations and analysis.
  • Supervisory experience with responsibility for planning, organizing, and directing the work of subordinate employees. 
  • Extensive work related experience using GIS application software.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills for building and maintaining positive working relationships and partnerships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to continuously improve and adapt job tasks and processes in response to organizational priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and to display initiative in pursuing new challenges and opportunities.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills to formulate recommendations to senior leaders. 
  • Strong verbal communication skills for effectively communicating with various levels of internal and external audiences.
  • Well developed organizational skills for managing competing and rapidly-changing priorities with strict timelines.

Desired:
 
  • Knowledge of the concepts and principles of land use and community planning.

Duties:
Reporting to the Senior Planner - Program Support, the Manager, Geospatial Program coordinates and supervises the work of geospatial analysts that are responsible for maintaining the assessment and survey parcel data for all of organized Manitoba. This role also leads key mapping projects, such as the integration of cottage lots and lots in un-organized northern communicates in Manitoba into the survey parcel data fabric.
