The Automobile Injury Compensation Appeal Commission (the Commission), is a specialist tribunal established under The Manitoba Public Insurance Corporation Act (the MPIC Act) to hear appeals of internal review decisions concerning benefits under the Personal Injury Protection Plan (PIPP) of the Manitoba Public Insurance Corporation (MPIC), a “no-fault” insurance program

Duties:
This position provides administrative support to the Chief Commissioner, the Deputy Chief Commissioners, and the Part-Time commissioners. The incumbent types and prepares hearing decisions rendered by the Commission including proofreading, revising, and distribution to various parties; schedules hearings including the associated administration; maintains a case management system; prepares confidential correspondence to senior officials, legal counsel and Commission clients; prepares responses on general operating matters; receives and processes requests for subpoenas with the approval of the Chief Commissioner or Deputy Chief Commissioners; receives the general public when they attend for a hearing; maintains various reports; processes Commissioner expenses; makes travel arrangements for the Commissioners; prepares office attendance as SAP timekeeper; provides relief clerical support as necessary.
Additionally, this position is responsible for managing the needs of part-time commissioners by ensuring their invoices and remuneration are processed accordingly.
