Manitoba Education and Early Childhood Learning is seeking a Curriculum and Assessment consultant (Regular/Full Time) with a focus on Senior Years Technology Education Program. The Department is responding to the K-12 Commissision recommendations to ensure the Kindergarten to grade 12 (K-12) education system is structured and supported effectively to improve student outcomes and provide students with the skills and knowledge they need to achieve their full potential. Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must possess or be eligible for a Manitoba Teacher's Certificate.
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends are required.
  • Must have a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check.
  • Must have the ability to travel within Manitoba and Canada as required.

Qualifications:
Essential:

  • Extensive experience coordinating Technology Education programs (Technical-Vocational, Industrial Arts, Human Ecology, Applied Commerce Education) within Manitoba schools or other canadian jurisdictions
  • Experience leading diverse work groups and project teams
  • Ability to build relationships, foster collaboration, and develop partnerships between various educational stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to act with diplomacy and tact
  • Excellent oral communication skills including presentation skills
  • Excellent written communication skills with ability to create and edit various documents with a high degree of accuracy
  • Effective organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions
Desired:
  • Knowledge of Workplace Safety and Health policies and procedures
  • Extensive experience coordinating High School Apprenticeship and Work Education programs within Manitoba schools or other canadian jurisdictions

Duties:
The Consultant is responsible for coordinating Senior Years Technology Education Program within Manitoba schools. This position coordinates programs and develops partnership arrangements between schools/divisions/districts, business and industry, post-secondary institutions, government departments, and community agencies to strengthen pathways from school to work. This position also provides leadership to implement Technology Education and facilitate related professional learning for educators. Duties also include collaborating with the Public Schools Finance Board regarding new facilities and renovations, approval of unit-credit and program grants, and tracking and payment authorization for the Skills Strategy Equipment Enhancement Fund.
