The Manitoba Emergency Measures Organization (EMO) works closely with all levels of government, the private sector, volunteer agencies and other non-government agencies to promote and co-ordinate emergency management, prevent the loss of life, and minimize damage to property and the environment.

  • Must have a valid class 5 driver's licence.

Qualifications:
Essential:

  • Post secondary education in public administration, business, natural resource management, environmental science/design, emergency management, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.
  • Extensive years experience in Business Continuity, Crisis Management, Risk Management, Disaster Recovery or a related field or an equivalent combination of relevant experience.
  • Experience with supervision including the ability to mentor, coach and lead the diverse team.
  • Experience in researching, analysing, strategic planning, evaluating, developing and recommending strategies and policies on cross-departmental matters for various stakeholders.
  • Experience making decisions independently that involves a high degree of risk.
  • Ability to interpret and apply acts, regulations, and policies to support the Business Continuity program.
  • Excellent written communication skills including the ability to research, analyze, summarize, and provide recommendations to senior management.
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders in a clear, concise and in a professional manner.

Duties:
The Business Continuity Lead reports to the Manager, Business Development, and the Business Continuity Lead will be responsible to oversee the development, implementation, and oversight of a provincial business continuity program. The key responsibilities include developing a comprehensive business continuity program across Manitoba. The incumbent functions as the project lead on complex assignments relating to business continuity within the area of Preparedness and Response. The position develops adequate training, tools, and guiding documents for clients, stakeholders, and partners. The incumbent works collaboratively with multi-levels of government/agencies and with multi-disciplinary teams.
