This position is Designated Bilingual. The successful candidate must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in both official languages (English and French).
The Bilingual Service Centres (BSC) house staff from various public bodies, different levels of government, and community organizations. As a key representative of the province, the Bilingual Information Specialist must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to interact with others with tact, a willingness to collaborate, and a solid understanding of the needs of partners and clients.

The Information Specialist provides bilingual services for public bodies in areas that do not require licensing or certification, and provides links to appropriate government staff and resources. The incumbent responds to inquiries in both official languages, offers general assistance to the public, including the completion of forms required for conducting business with government departments. The incumbent undertakes outreach activities, facilitates presentations for community interest groups on specific topics related to the programs and services of the province, conducts mobile service clinics, and assists with program promotion in the community through involvement with community organizations and community leaders.
