Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must have a Valid Class 5 Drivers licence.
  • Must be able to travel to worksites by both ground and air transportation.
  • Must be able to work for extended hours and periods of time (including weekends) with overnight stays (possibly in a camp environment),
  • Must be able to work in an outdoor rough terrain environment.
  • Must be physically capable of performing all of the required job duties (lifting/carrying 0-25 kg, walking on rough terrain, sitting and standing for prolonged periods, climbing stairs and ladders, crouching, kneeling, bending, twisting, operating vehicles and wearing personal protective equipment. 

Qualifications:
Essential:

  • Completion of a Civil Engineering Technology Diploma, other acceptable forms of training combined with education may be considered.
  • Experience directly related to working aspects of roadway preservation work (i.e. design, contract preparation and quality/quantity control).
  • Experience in MS Office (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Knowledge of construction orders and tender documents.
  • Knowledge of construction specifications, procedures and guidelines. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of Occupational, Safety, Health and Risk Management policies and procedures.
  • Strong verbal communication skills. 
  • Strong interpersonal Skills. 
  • Effective leadership skills including the ability to plan and organize staff to meet project objectives. 
  • The ability to analyze problems and expedite decisions.
  • The ability to work independently and display initiative and good judgement. 

Duties:
The Maintenance Project Manager reports to the Maintenance Manager and provides construction management on standard basic projects and supervision of assigned department staff.The incumbent also performs responsible paraprofessional work, supporting the region in highway design, construction management and administrative functions while adhering to Department standards, policies and specifications.This position requires interaction and co-operation with the Regional Management Team to ensure the Departments overall objectives are met.
