The Economic Opportunities Navigation Division is responsible for providing concierge services for medium to large scale foreign direct investment, business expansion, or trade opportunities. The division is responsible for business navigation, select business immigration services, policy for trade, economic development policy, as well as project managing initiatives to fill targeted labour market shortages. The division is responsible for working internally across provincial departments as a one-stop approach to connect businesses and economic development partners to the Government of Manitoba.

Duties:
Reporting to the Director of Trade and Economic Development, the Business and Trade Development Manager participates in the development, coordination and execution of Manitoba’s policies for trade and foreign direct investment. The position coordinates with relevant departments and economic development partners to develop and continually update Manitoba’s strategic policies for trade and foreign direct investment, segmented by region and by sector; coordinates (as-required) foreign trade missions, local trade events, as well as foreign delegations visiting Manitoba; and provides informal oversight over Project Consultants executing targeted economic growth strategy projects and initiatives.
