The Victim Services Triage Worker provides victims of crime with general information regarding the Criminal Justice System, short-term counselling, risk assessments, safety and protection planning and community referrals. This position is also responsible for working with victims to guide them through the complexities of the Justice System, and assessing victims' needs and ensuring the appropriate intervention is arranged.

The incumbent triages all calls and carries a caseload of Canadian Victims' Bill of Rights (CVBR) matters. The incumbent performs risk assessments, completes safety planning, provides emotional support and short-term counselling, provides information about the case and the Justice system, and/or refers individuals to services that best meet their needs. The incumbent maintains communication with Crown attorneys about significant issues, views and/or concerns expressed by victims about their cases. The incumbent assists individuals with accessing and completing various forms. This position requires the use of Manitoba Justice Applications including PRISM, COMS and CCAIN.
