In accordance with The Child and Family Services Act, The Child and Family Services Authorities Act and The Adoption Act, Winnipeg Child and Family Services (WCFS) provides a comprehensive continuum of child protection and family support services in Winnipeg. WCFS partners with the community to provide supportive and preventative services to families; protection services to children at risk of abuse and neglect; develops and provides basic and specialized placement services to meet the needs of children in care; provides preservation and reunification services to families when reunification is no longer an option. Qualifications:
Essential:

  • Extensive experience providing administrative and secretarial support to executive management level staff including managing calendars, a high volume of phone calls, email correspondence and meeting requests
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Excellent written communication skills including experience drafting, editing, proofing and self initiating correspondence with a high degree of accuracy
  • Office management experience including setting up and maintaining office administrative systems such as; paper and electronic filing, data tracking systems and managing operational office requirements
  • Supervisory experience including leading staff, managing performance, and balancing workloads according to priorities
  • Experience working with and managing highly confidential and sensitive information with diplomacy and tact
  • Experience researching and compiling information for management review
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills including the ability to establish priorities, remain flexible and meet strict and changing deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to facilitate working relationships with staff at all levels of government as well as the public using tact and diplomacy
  • Ability to anticipate needs, take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Sound judgement and problem solving skills with the ability to handle non-routine issues
  • Experience using Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel , Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Experience in the development and implementation of processes, procedures and policies

Duties:
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Office Manager is responsible for a full range of senior administrative functions supporting the CEO; the administration and operation of the executive office; branch human resources administration and the supervision of staff.
