This is an exciting opportunity to join the new Integrated Planning Branch of the Department of Agriculture and Resource Development as a Development Consultant with a focus on Indigenous Relations. In this role, you will support integrated land use planning and resource management that considers all aspects of Manitoba’s people, landscapes and assets to enable proactive approaches to the sustainable development of Manitoba’s resources. If you are motivated to increase the participation of Indigenous people in the agricultural and natural resource economy, and to support reconciliation through consultation, engagement, as well as education and training initiatives, this is an ideal opportunity.

Reporting to the Manager of Indigenous Relations, this position will lead projects that support reconciliation, including coordinating Consultation with Indigenous communities and building relationships that demonstrate cooperative approaches to land/water use planning, resource management and development in Manitoba. You will have the opportunity to apply innovation, creative solution design, and engagement strategies that support moving Manitoba's natural resource-based economy forward while respecting heritage natural resource management and shaping a bright future for the next generations.
The Development Consultants may coordinate training and development programs, interact with various levels of government, and represent Manitoba in sustainable land and resource use planning with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people. You also will assist in the coordination of integrated planning teams that represent interests in lands, water, minerals, forests, peatlands, agriculture, wildlife and fisheries.
