The Department of Health and Seniors Care is currently seeking a Registration and Client Services Representative for the Insured Benefits Branch. This branch is responsible for determining client eligibility for insured benefits programs, registering clients and responding to customer inquiries by providing information by telephone, in person and through written correspondence on matters relating to the registration for Manitoba Health Benefits.

Qualifications:

Essential:
 

  • Experience in a client services environment where the job duties involved providing information and answering inquiries by phone and in person. 
  • Experience performing administrative or clerical tasks such as data entry, typing documents, preparing reports, and answering phones. 
  • Strong customer service skills to manage client expectations and provide courteous and respectful support.
  • Experience interpreting and applying legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures. 
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information.

Desired:
 
  • Knowledge of the Health Services Act.

Duties:

Reporting to the Unit Supervisor, Registration and Client Services Representatives are responsible for determining client eligibility for Insured Benefits Programs, registering clients in programs and responding to client inquiries on matters relating to registration, claims and other insured programs administered by Manitoba Health. This position works with and ensures compliance with various Acts and Regulations such as The Canada Health Act, The Manitoba Health Services Insurance Act and the Interprovincial Agreement on Eligibility and Portability. Adhering to The Personal Health Information Act (PHIA) and The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) is critical in this position.
