Duties:
Reporting directly to the Regional Field Supervisor, the District Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of all resource management and regulatory programs related to fisheries, forestry, wildlife and lands within the district. The District Supervisor conducts enforcement patrols to ensure compliance with legislation and performs investigations of alleged offences. The incumbent will be responsible for planning, implementing and reporting on district operational programs, supervising staff and administering the budget for the district. This position will be required to develop and maintain effective working relationships with client groups, including First Nation, local community councils, non-government organizations and industry, to address concerns and resolve issues. The District Supervisor will take a leadership role in promoting the sustainable use of natural resources by all resource users within the district to meet department objectives. The incumbent will also ensure compliance with the Workplace Health and Safety Legislation and Risk Management programs in the Districts. This position respects the preservation of peace, the prevention of offences against the law, the administration of justice and other non-law enforcement duties. Conservation Officers are held to a high standard of conduct, on and off duty, and in and outside of Manitoba.
