Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must provide and maintain a Satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check
  • A valid driver’s licence with daily access to a vehicle to transport clients’ belongings
  • Ability to travel within the service area which may include overnight stays in rural and remote locations
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and work in a physically demanding environment
  • Ability to achieve and maintain Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL - for non-restricted firearms)
  • Must be able to work extended hours  as needed
  • Ability to be bonded in Manitoba
     

Qualifications:
Essential:

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to quickly adapt to a change in tasks and effectively manage a high volume of work while maintaining detailed notes, tracking time and completing mileage and expense reports
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook or equivalent programs
  • Efficient keyboarding skills
  • Attention to detail, strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with a variety of stakeholders such as other government departments, community police services, a variety of professionals and the general public
  • Excellent written communication skills including (but not limited to) ability to prepare detailed reports of observations made (whether by email, memo, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal communication 
  • Experience working with people who have a mental illness, dementia or vulnerable people living with a mental disability as well as their families and service providers

Desired:
  • Ability to work in various environments, including but not limited to unsanitary conditions, hoarding, presence of rodents and/or insects
  • Experience conducting investigations in order to identify/locate financial resources, documents and property 
  • Experience conducting physical searches of property or residences which may include preparing detailed inventories of goods and belongings
  • Experience with the safe handling, transportation and storage of firearms
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures

Duties:
  - responsible for the field work necessary to administer deceased estates and client’s affairs
  - conduct searches
  - prepare detailed inventories
  - take possession and control of movable items from a client’s premises
  - obtain appraisals for personal property and arrange for their sale or disposal
  - conduct interviews with clients' families and related contacts
  - procure external agencies/ contractors for property maintenance, repairs, chattel movement, cleaning, shopping, etc.
  - liaises with stakeholders and service providers, banks, trust companies and businesses
