Translation Services is a central agency mandated to provide translation, interpretation and terminology management services - in English and in French - to all government departments, the Legislative assembly, the courts, Crown organizations, and Special Operating Agencies in Manitoba.

Reporting to the Manager, Translation Services, the incumbent supervises and supports the work of a team of 20-25 freelancers and four in-house translators/revisers to ensure quality translation from English into French for all Government of Manitoba departments, Crown corporations and special operating agencies, the Legislative Assembly and the Courts. The incumbent is responsible for leading complex and sensitive translation projects, establishing and maintaining qualitative and quantitative standards and procedures. The incumbent works in close collaboration with the translation coordinator, the terminologists, freelancers, in-house translators/revisers (Interpretation Section), and administrative staff to improve efficiency and meet client needs. This includes managing expectations, monitoring the use of computer-aided technology and assessing training needs.
