Qualifications:
Essential:

Eligible for membership in the Law Society of Manitoba.

Extensive experience effectively conducting lengthy and complicated legal research.

Experience and demonstrated ability preparing complex legal documents, memoranda and/or other legal research papers.

Excellent analytical skills.

Clear and concise legal writing style.
-
Superior organizational skills with the ability to work independently and effectively to meet short deadlines.

Advanced knowledge and experience demonstrating related effective use of computer applications including online legal research databases, MS Word and Outlook.

Duties:
Reporting to the Chief Justice of Manitoba, the successful candidate will perform confidential legal research for the Justices of the Court of Appeal. The successful candidate works under the day to day direction of the Senior Legal Research Officer who will delegate and supervise work as required. Research will be assigned both before and after the hearing of an appeal. The successful candidate also has responsibility for online information retrieval.
