Introduction
The Manitoba government is recruiting multiple interns for the Management Internship Program to commence spring 2015.  This is an exciting opportunity for those wanting to gain diverse experience and pursue a career in the public sector.  Individuals who expect to graduate by spring 2015 are also eligible to apply.

There may be opportunity for internships in other communities across the province.

Qualifications:
Essential:
  • Completion of post-secondary education at the university or community college level (such as degree or diploma) or a suitable combination of education and experience.
  • Experience leading projects and/or teams
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) or equivalent software
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to resolve conflict, using tact and good judgement
  • Experience working independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to foster collaboration and partnerships
  • Ability to analyze and problem-solve
  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Inclusive approach to the principles of diversity 
 
Desired:
  • Experience writing correspondence or reports in a work or volunteer setting
 
Duties:
This is an exciting opportunity as this program provides opportunity to gain diverse experience, training and development opportunities for those interested in the public sector.  Successful candidates will be hired on an 18-month basis and will gain experience in a series of placements in various government departments that will introduce them to the systems and processes of government.  Program components include:  an in-depth orientation, a series of rotational work assignments and related training modules.

Candidates will be assessed on their written communication skills for the diversity response.  The selection board will rely only on information provided in the screening form and diversity response to determine whether a candidate will be invited for further assessment.
