Manitoba Education and Training is seeking  highly innovative and creative individuals to join its Industry, Training and Employment Services (ITES) team in the role of Public Response Officer.

  • Must produce and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
 
Essential:
 
  • Experience interpreting policies and procedures and providing advice to the public including directing them to the appropriate resources.
  • Experience working with the public in person and over the phone.
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of initiative.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information, and sensitivity to clients' cultural and social backgrounds.
  • Ability to problem-solve and make sound decisions. 
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills, in drafting reports and correspondence.
  • Excellent French verbal communication skills is a requirement.
  • Excellent written communication skills, in drafting reports and correspondence in French is a requirement.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel and Outlook).
 
Desired:
 
  • Diploma or Certificate in Business or Office Administration. 
 

Duties:

Responding to the needs of clients (citizens, employers, and organizations) across the Province of Manitoba, the Public Response Officer (PRO) is the first point of contact for all incoming telephone inquiries and all Access Manitoba Contact Me inquiries and referrals. The incumbent will deal with a varying number of diverse clients over the telephone and provides services to these clients in a timely, accurate and sensitive manner.  The Public Response Officer responds to inquiries in a professional, client centric manner and maintains the highest level of client satisfaction by seeking first call resolution.  The Public Response Officer provides information on programs and services offered through the Division including Apprenticeship Manitoba, Industry Services, Industry, Training and Employment Services as well as Employment and Income Assistance Program.
