Qualifications:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must be able and willing to travel occasionally throughout the province of Manitoba
- Must be physically capable of performing the duties of the position which includes occasional field work involving walking long distances over potentially rough terrain
- Post secondary degree or diploma in Forestry, Natural Resource Management or Environmental Science or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Ability to see in stereo using a traditional stereoscope
- Experience identifying tree species in aerial photography
- Knowledge of forest inventory systems including inventory classifications
- Strong written communication skills
- Strong verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate with others
- Experience using softcopy technology
- Experience using Microsoft office or equivalent software
- Analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
- Experience with Geographic Information System(s) and relational database(s)
- Field experience in forest inventory such as cruising or other forest mensuration
- Experience with digital data compilation techniques, base mapping and ortho tile databases
