Conditions of Employment:

• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

• Must provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check
• A certificate of qualification as a journeyperson Painter and Decorator
• Valid class 5 driver’s license, access to personal vehicle and satisfactory driving abstract
• Must be physically capable of performing the required duties of the position including lifting up to 35 pounds

Qualifications:
Essential:

• Experience working as a painter and familiar with the standard practices, materials, techniques and tools of this trade.
• Experience preparing estimates of time and material.
• Experience working independently with the ability to problem-solve
• Verbal communication skills
• Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to form and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Excellent organization and time-management skills

Duties:
Reporting to the Supervisor or designate, this position performs painting and painting-preparatio in Manitoba Housing Renewal Corporation owned facilities. The painter will provide estimates, prepare surfaces, select appropriate materials for painting. Duties may also include covering graffiti outdoors and performing light maintenance to drywall to prepare for painting.
