The Women's Correctional Centre (WCC) is located in Headingley, Manitoba. The Centre was completed and opened in 2012. This is a multi-level security centre.

  • Successful completion of one (or more) courses related to the education of special adults, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered
  • Prior teaching or related work experience 
  • Special Education Certificate
  • Experience with Indigenous culture and Justice issues
  • Ability to communicate in an Indigenous language

Duties:
The incumbent will be required to develop instructional materials and to provide instruction for illiterate and semi-literate adults in reading, writing and mathematics, as well as assisting with individually tailored academic upgrading and life skills programs.  This is accomplished by application of Adult Education Theory as adapted to meet the needs of incarcerated adult females.
