Reporting to the Maintenance Resource Manager, the incumbent performs plumbing maintenance, testing, installation and repair on all aspects of plumbing in facilities.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Red Seal Journeyperson Plumbing Licence
  • Valid class 5 driver's licence with the ability to travel within assigned work district
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry Check & Security Check
  • Must be physically capable of performing the required activities of the position, including wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Qualifications:
Essential:

  • Experience working with plumbing and heating systems in a large commercial, industrial and/or institutional facility
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of safe work practices, procedures and relevant safety policies and legislation.
  • Ability to plan and make effective work-related decisions. 
  • Organizational skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with contractors, clients, and the general public.

Desired:
  • A Backflow Preventer Certificate (Cross Connectors Testing) and/or completion of Asbestos Abatement training.
  • Experience working with SAP or related Maintenance Management software.
  • Knowledge of Building Automation Systems, including DDC or related systems.

Duties:
Duties will include, but not limited to maintenance and repair of domestic water and waste water systems, hot water heating systems and specialized institutional plumbing systems. Duties may also include facility maintenance not related to plumbing work.
