Materials Distribution Agency (MDA) is a Special Operating Agency in the Province of Manitoba. The Manager of Support Services and Medical Equipment will be expected to operate independently and with great autonomy on all activities pertaining to their area and is responsible for all administrative functions of the agency.

Qualifications:
Essential:

  • Completion of post-secondary education in Business Administration. A combination of education and experience within warehousing, administration and inventory management may be considered.
  • Experience with supervision and leadership of staff, including evaluating work of subordinates, providing formal and informal feedback, and coaching and mentoring.
  • Experience with the preparation of budgets, pricing, costing analysis, and forecasting/estimating.
  • Knowledge of procurement activity, including tendering and bid evaluations.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to demonstrate political acumen with complex issues.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workloads and effectively manage tight deadlines.     
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Experience with LEAN or equivalent methodologies (Six Sigma, OPEX) for continuous improvement of work area.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Strong written communication skills.

Desired:
  • Experience with Great Plains, SAP and MS Office applications (Word, Outlook and Excel)
  • Experience applying and interpreting policies, procedures and legislation, including FIPPA, PHIA, safety legislation, and good manufacturing practices.

Duties:
Reporting directly to the COO, the Manager of Support Services and Medical Equipment is responsible for the planning of administration, delivery and services in a number of key Government programs. Develops and co-ordinates policies, systems and procedures for medical supplies and equipment commodities. This involves providing advice, direction, leading, training, mentoring, finances and human resources within their area. The incumbent applies specialised expertise for medical supplies and equipment throughout the Province.
