Qualifications:
Essential:

  • A CPA designation or working towards a CPA designation after having passed the CFE 
  • Extensive recent experience applying accounting principles and Canadian Auditing Standards (CAS) in conducting financial statement audits
  • Superior analytical skills to identify and analyze problems and form logical conclusions
  • The ability to effectively plan, organize and follow up when managing assigned work
  • Strong written communication skills to effectively communicate audit findings to a variety of stakeholders
  • The ability to be proactive, take initiative, and perform tasks independently while working under minimal supervision 
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work well both within a team setting and with a diverse group of stakeholders
  • Strong verbal communication skills including the ability to actively listen and present messages concisely. 

Duties:
Reporting directly to the financial statement managers and/or principals and indirectly to the Deputy Auditor General, the Senior Auditor will work as a member of the financial statements serice area to perform financial statements audits in accordance with Canadian Auditing Standards.  The Senior Auditor will supervise staff , oversee audit budgets, and will actively participate in audit activities including planning, gathering evidence, and reporting of findings.

Candidates who do not meet all essential criteria may be considered on an under fill basis at a commensurate rate of pay.  Candidates with lesser qualifications may be considered on an under fill basis at the AN1 classification level (Salary: $55,983 - $67,141 per year). Candidates appointed on an under fill basis will be provided with training and development to reach the full working level.
