Capital Projects Planning and Delivery (CPPD) is a division within the Department of Consumer Protection and Government Services and is responsible for the delivery of all capital projects for the departments of Government Services, Education and Early Childhood Learning, Environment and Climate Change, Housing, Addiction and Homelessness, Justice, Municipal and Northern Relations. This division of government consists of capital project management and professional/technical staff coming together to achieve the united mission of developing and delivering the Capital program and providing professional expertise in support of the client groups

This position, reporting to the Manager of the Architecture and Structural Engineering Group, is responsible for providing senior leadership and owner advocacy support to client departments and agencies of the government. This is highly complex work with overall responsibility for providing professional architectural expertise and oversight in support of capital planning, project delivery, and capital portfolio management to the various client groups served. The senior architect will oversee the development and maintenance of client group technical and professional standards. Owner advocate support and feedback will be provided by the senior architect through all stages of project development for complex multi-disciplinary projects delivered by external consultant teams. The senior architect will perform and oversee facility condition assessment and planning with consideration to client portfolio objectives and policies. The senior architect will guide and oversee the in-house design and delivery of drawings and specifications issued under professional seal for select projects, including coordination of multi-disciplinary teams as required. The senior architect will advise on complex matters relating to the work performed by outside consultants and contractors that will require professional opinion and judgement, conflict resolution, guided direction, and engagement with stakeholders using constructive communications.
