Qualifications:
Essential:
 

  • Experience performing clerical or administrative duties which includes data entry, answering phones, responding to e-mails, preparing documents as well as manual and electronic filing
  • Experience providing excellent client or customer service
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to meet strict deadlines while handling multiple tasks in high-pressure situations
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and maintain accuracy
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as contribute to a respectful workplace
  • Excellent English verbal communication skills
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook

Desired:
 
  • Experience and knowledge of policies, procedures and rules of the court
  • Completion of a recognized legal or administrative assistant program or other related post-secondary education and or related training
  • Experience with Criminal Court Automated Information Network (CCAIN)

Duties:
The primary responsibility of the Data Entry Clerk is to receive, monitor and update criminal charges or Court Information. This information must be entered in an accurate and efficient manner into the Criminal Court Automated Information Network (CCAIN), as well as prepare, publish, print and distribute the daily court dockets for the Thompson Court Centre and its 14 circuit locations.

This position is also responsible to type a variety of court orders/papers, many of which can be highly complex, accurately and efficiently as they come out of court each day. To create and enter Warrants for Arrest, Certificates of Failure to Appear, Warrants for Witness, Orders for Committal, Summonses, and Release Orders on CCAIN, and to ensure they are typing the court papers in the proper priority taking into account custody status.
