Qualifications:
Essential:

  • Excellent data input and collection skills in Oracle-based database program, or any equivalent software or program.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) applications, or equivalent software applications
  • Experience in reviewing, analysing and processing applications.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage interruptions, establish priorities, meet deadlines within tight timelines and manage high workload.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of The Oil and Gas Act  and related Regulations and Guidelines. 
Desired:
  • Knowledge of the upstream oil industry.
  • Post-secondary education in Science or Engineering.

Duties:
The incumbent is mainly responsible for the technical analysis and processing of well licenses.  This includes maintaining and auditing the technical well files and other related information. The incumbent is an operational specialist in Manitoba Oil and Gas Well Information System (MOGWIS) and Manitoba Electronic Well Licensing Application (MEWLA). This position also provides technical support to the Engineering and Inspection Section and provides significant assistance externally to Engineers, Geologists, and senior company executives. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for assessing and filling of requests for a wide range of geological and technical information from industry and the public.
